Thaddaeus Ropac is one of Europe’s foremost blue-chip gallerists. At his space in Salzburg, which he opened in 1983, and one in Paris, which opened seven years later, he consistently mounts shows by a roster of high-calibre artists, including Gilbert & George, Georg Baselitz and Alex Katz. He has also been instrumental in supporting the Austrian art scene, representing artists including Gerwald Rockenschaub and Arnulf Rainer.
