A vital champion and collector of Latin American art, Patricia Phelps de Cisneros is known for an impressive collection and for the Fundación Cisneros, a private philanthropic organisation tasked, among other things, with increasing awareness of Latin America’s contributions to world culture. The Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros (CPPC) is thought to be the best ever assembled collection of Latin American art, and institutions across the US are waiting with bated breath to find out if they will benefit from donations now that its period of itinerancy is officially over. Phelps de Cisneros also sits on the board of trustees at MoMA and the Tate’s International Council.
