Cindy Sherman’s year has been a good one. Her most recent series of photographs, large-scale portraits of ageing society dames, opened to rave reviews in New York last November, and then later in Berlin and London. Her continued presence in every top collector’s stores (not to mention in the inaugural show at François Pinault’s new Punta della Dogana space in Venice) ensures she is one of the most bankable as well as critically acclaimed artists working today.
